Attendance

Regular attendance classes is vital for success at Saint Rose Catholic School. Students who are absent or tardy are held responsible for any work they may have missed. Ten or more tardies or absences in a given quarter may result in probationary status.

Absences: Upon returning to school after an absence, a written or verbal confirmation stating the reason for the absence should be presented to the office and the student will be issued a readmittance slip to return to class. If a student has been diagnosed as having a contagious disease, or if he/she will be absent for 3 or more days, please notify the office immediately.

Tardies: It is the family's responsibility to insure that students arrive to school on time.
School starts at 8:00 a.m. and students are considered tardy after that time. Students who arrive at 8:00 or later must go to the school office to check in.

Releases During The School Day: All students leaving the campus during school hours must be signed out by a parent or guardian in the school office.

Returning To School: A student who leaves school and returns the same day must check into the office upon return.

Make-Up Work: It is the student's responsibility to request missed work from teachers upon return to school following an illness. A maximum of two days will be given for each day a student has missed to complete missing assignments. For short-term illnesses it is the responsibility of students in 6th-8th grades to get missed assignments from their homework partners. If a student has a long-term illness (more than 4 days), the parent must complete a Student Absence Notification form in the office. If a family has a planned absence, parents must request missed work, using the same form, 5 days in advance in order to allow the teacher(s) time to prepare assignments. Missed classwork may depend on teacher approval.
